Anagallis tenella

bog pimpernel

Product Image
The award-winning and native bog pimpernel forms a dense carpet of semi-evergreen leaves peppered with fragrant, tiny rose-pink flowers from June to September.

Anagallis tenella makes a great addition to the margins of any pond, bog garden or very shallow water. This pretty, low maintenance aquatic plant requires little trimming and is disease resistant.

How to care for Anagallis tenella:

Plant in shallow water (0-10cm or 0-4in) or very damp soil at the pond edge. It prefers full sun and naturally low-nutrient, acidic to neutral conditions. The plant feeds from the pond water, so no additional fertiliser is needed.

It spreads low and mat-forming, making it good for soft edging—trim lightly if if it becomes straggly or overgrown. Keep moist at all times, as it will quickly decline in dry soil.
