Make the compost by placing the peat-free compost pellet in a suitable mixing container and add 350ml of lukewarm water. Allow to stand and expand for 30-60 minutes, drain off any excess water and mix compost well. You may have compost than you require and more water could be required if the compost mix is looking dry.
Plant from March onwards. Fill 90% of the planter with the compost and place the tubers hollow part upwards taking care not to damage any shoots. Tubers should be slightly bedded into the compost. If frosts are still possible, place in a light, frost-free position, keeping the compost moist. Once the risk of frost has passed, place outside. Flowers will last longer if in semi-shade. Keep compost moist and remove faded flowers.
