A beautiful, upright and bushy Camellia boasting bronze coloured new shoots that develop darker speckling and gradually deepen to reddish-bronze tones. Large, dark red, double flowers burst forth during late winter and early spring to kick off all year-round interest. Find a spot for ‘Femme Fatale’, either in a pot, as a specimen in its own right, or mingling in the border with other early season stars.
How to care for Camellia japonica Femme Fatale (PBR):
To prevent damage to the emerging buds and flowers protect from cold, dry winds and early morning sun. Water established plants in dry weather to prevent bud drop. Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser in mid-spring and again in June. Top-dress annually with shredded bark or well-rotted leaf mould. After flowering lightly trim or prune any branches that spoil the appearance of the plant.
