Elegant, large, pure white early summer flowers, initially mauve-tinged, with yellow centres and mid-green leaves. The petals of this large-flowered clematis have pretty wavy edges. An excellent climber for growing through a strong shrub, tree or climbing rose in full sun or partial shade, with a second flush of flowers in September.
To avoid dry conditions, and to ensure good soil contact around the rootball, we advise planting climbers at least 30cm (12in), and preferably 45-60cm (18-24in) away from the base of a wall or fence. An even larger distance should be maintained when planting climbers beside an existing tree or shrub.
Remove dead and damaged stems before growth begins in early spring, cutting all remaining stems back to where strong buds are visible. Apply a slow-release balanced fertiliser and a mulch of well-rotted garden compost around the base of the plant in early spring.
