This is a very pleasing-to-the-eye, clump-forming fern. It has large light fronds with fresh growth covered in attractive light brown scales. Excellent for tough, damp and shady sites either as a single specimen or for vertical accent in a group.
How to care for Dryopteris goldieana:
Incorporate lots of well-rotted leaf mould, composted pine needles or garden compost into the planting hole. Cut back decayed fronds in winter to allow new growth to emerge.
