A dense tuft-forming rush with blue-green stems, which form a wonderful fountain-like effect. In summer small, open clusters of brown flowers further add to the interest. Thriving in reliably moist or boggy conditions, Juncus inflexus is also ideal for the shallow edges of a pond.
How to care for Juncus inflexus:
Plant out in reliably moist or boggy soil, or pot up into a pond basket and place at the margins of a pond with a water covering of 0-8cm (0-3") deep. Remove dead foliage and old flowered stems in spring. From mid-spring to early summer lift and divide congested clumps.
