Lavandula × intermedia Phenomenal ('Niko') (PBR)
lavender
- Position: full sun
- Soil: moderately fertile, well-drained soil
- Rate of growth: vigorous
- Flowering period: July to August
- Hardiness: fully hardy
This new form is noted for its larger than average flowers, strong stems, which do not tend to flop, and uniform habit. It also has the ability to produce a second flush of flowers later in the season if the first flush is cut back after it has faded. Ideal for lining the edges of a path, offering a long sea son of interest to a patio pot, or filling gaps at the front of a sunny border. - Garden care: Cut back the stalks after the flowers have faded to retain a compact shape. Carefully trim back in April, taking care not to cut into old wood.
