A magnificent medium to large-sized tree specimen tree with a strong pyramidal habit and fissured bark. Like all 'Sweet Gum' trees, 'Thea' is grown for its breathtaking autumn colours. The bright green summer ‘maple-like’ foliage turns to brilliant shades of crimson, scarlet and purple creating a dramatic end to the growing season.

How to care for Liquidambar styraciflua Thea:

When planting, incorporate lots of well-rotted manure or garden compost into the planting hole and stake firmly. Requires minimal pruning. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. For best autumn colours, choose a position in full sun.
