'Joli Pompon' is a splendid, acid soil-loving springtime addition to a sheltered garden, displaying an upright, bushy form that can be nurtured as a small tree or a generously sized shrub. Its mid-green, ovate leaves provide an elegant backdrop to the main attraction - large, cup-shaped white blossoms adorned with vibrant rose-pink stamens at their heart.
Requires minimal pruning. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in midsummer. Plant in a sheltered spot, adding plenty of ericaceous compost to the planting hole. Mulch in spring with manure and leafmould, especially in dry soils.
