Myriophyllum verticillatum

whorled water milfoil

Product Image
Thriving beneath the water's surface, this aquatic perennial bears branched shoots weave a picturesque scene with whorls of leaves, intricately pinnately divided into feathery segments, creating a delicate and enchanting spectacle. Flourishing best in tranquil, freshwater with alkaline soils, Myriophyllum verticillatum is an excellent oxygenator that shares a kinship with spiked milfoil but boasts longer leaflets, and terminal spikes of tiny, pale yellow flowers.

How to care for Myriophyllum verticillatum:

These plants are potted up (using a suitable aquatic compost) into aquatic pots. These pots are made of a fine mesh, which allows water to circulate through the compost, providing the plants with both oxygen and nutrients. They can be planted straight into the pond with a covering of water up to 40cm (34") deep, but as this plant can become invasive, do not plant in any place with a connection to a natural body of water. Aquatics can appear a little flaccid after their travel to you but will regenerate once submerged in water.
