This spreading and low-growing phlox is ideal for alpine beds or pots, but it also makes a wonderful ground cover at the front of a sunny border. It can even be used to fill gaps between paving slabs - or tumble over the top of a wall. In spring, you can enjoy the white flowers, which virtually smother the foliage and create a carpet of stars.

This perennial is semi-evergreen so it can lose some of its leaves in winter. In colder regions or more exposed gardens, it may lose them all, but then fresh new growth appears again in spring.
