Often flowering over an incredibly long period, this hard-working, undemanding shrub is ideal for sunny spots - and will usually flourish where little else will grow. Forming a low, spreading mound, the rich green foliage acts as the perfect backdrop for the bright yellow flowers, which will look great when teamed with oranges, reds, purples and blues.
How to care for Potentilla fruticosa Bella Lindsey ('Hendlin') (PBR):
Trim lightly after flowering, cutting the older stems to the base and removing weak, spindly growth. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted compost or manure around the base of the plant in spring.
