Glorious, almost fluorescent yellow foliage, that turns yellow-green in summer, then orange-yellow in autumn, is accompanied by clusters of fragrant white flowers in late spring and early summer. A vigorous, broadly columnar tree (often with thorny shoots), it makes an excellent specimen for a sunny, sheltered garden.
How to care for Robinia pseudoacacia Frisia:
Shelter from strong winds. On established trees pruning is best kept to a minimum as large pruning cuts often don't heal well. Any necessary pruning should be tackled in mid- to late summer. Prone to suckering, it's best to avoid disturbing the roots as much as possible, and any suckers that do appear should be removed as soon as possible.
