These little arrangements are really cute and they look great on a shelf (either singly or in a cluster) in a bright bathroom - which also happens to be their ideal growing environment! They are made using a real sea urchin shell, into which a small air plant (a lucky dip of 3 different shapes) has been secured, and this gives them a tufted look - almost like a spiky topknot.
How to care for Tillandsia sputnik:
These plants do need a humid environment to thrive, so a bright bathroom or steamy kitchen would be ideal. Misting with water a couple of times a week usually supplies sufficient water, although additional watering may be required in a dry hot environment.
Br> Remember to shake off any excess water though as they dislike overwatering and should never be allowed to sit in water for any length of time. If possible use rain water, especially in hard water areas, and never use water from a water softener.
