Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy'

American redbud

Product Image
Deep purple, heart-shaped leaves on a highly attractive, spreading deciduous tree. In spring, crimson, purple or pink flowers appear on the bare stems giving way to its intensely-coloured summer foliage.

The RHS award-winning Cercis canadensis 'Forest Pansy' prefers a warm, sunny spot, and will eventually grow into a medium to large tree. Supplied as either a multi-stemmed or single-stemmed tree.

How to care for Cercis canadensis Forest Pansy:

When planting, add some soil conditioner (well-rotted compost) to the planting hole and some mycorrhizal fungi to aid root establishment.

Ensure the top of the plant's compost is flush with the level of the surrounding soil and the collar of the tree is above ground level.

Support taller specimens either with a bamboo cane and or stake during establishment. Water generously around the base of the plant.
