Crocosmia 'Emberglow'

montbretia bulbs

Product Image
Vibrant sprays of star-like, upward-facing, 8cm (3”) long flowers of deep scarlet that open wider than other montbretias to show off their yellow throats. Paired with the blues and purples of Agapanthus, Echinops, or Aconitum, ‘Emberglow’ is a real slow burn for the late summer and autumn border that only the first frosts can snuff out.

How to care for Crocosmia Emberglow:

Plant the corms (bulbs) in spring approximately 8-10cm deep and 10-15cm apart. Resist removing the faded foliage in autumn and cover the crown of the plant with bracken or bark chips to protect the plant against frost damage. Lift and divide congested colonies in spring, planting the divided sections 8-10cm (3-4in) deep.
