kohuhu
- Position: full sun or lightly dappled shade
- Soil: fertile, moist, well-drained soil
- Rate of growth: average
- Flowering period: May to June
- Hardiness: frost hardy (needs winter protection in cold areas)
Small, wavy-edged grey-green leaves, each with a fine, creamy white margin, clothe the dark stems of this bushy evergreen shrub, providing year round interest. Originating from New Zealand, it copes well with coastal conditions and will make a handsome screen in a sheltered garden. - Garden care: Requires minimal pruning. To thin or reduce growth prune mid-spring and apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant.
