  • Masses of nectar-rich daisies top the feathery foliage of this sun-loving, annual wildflower in summer. It looks wonderful when allowed to naturalise in a meadow or orchard, but it’s also useful for adding summer colour to mixed borders with a softer, more relaxed feel. Seeds sown in autumn will usually go on to flower earlier than those sown in spring.

  • Garden care: After the plants have set seed and died down, cut them back, shaking out any remaining seeds onto the soil surface. In spring the following year, gently break up the surface of the soil to encourage germination - and another year of gorgeous blooms.

  • Sowing instructions:
Sow directly into a well-prepared seedbed and keep weed-free. When large enough to handle, gently plant the seedlings out at 30cm intervals.

  • Sow: March to April or August to October

  • Flowering period: June to September
