This versatile and undemanding little plant can be used to create lush groundcover in sun or partial shade, as well as jazzing up the display on the patio. The foliage is the star here. It's grass-like, so forms a low mound, and it has a green central strip that runs along its length. This is bordered by a creamy margin, which takes on an orange glow when the temperatures drop. If you want something compact, colourful and low maintenance, then you cant go wrong with this!

Comb through the plant in late winter to remove any dead foliage. Feed with a general purpose fertiliser during the growing season and if necessary, lift and divide over-large clumps in early spring.
