Producing a pretty ruff of long, white, slightly reflexed petals surround a central disc of densely packed, short petals, lemon coloured at the centre Leucanthemum × superbum 'Wirral Supreme' is one of the best double-flowered varieties.

Flowering throughout the summer and adding a cool, fresh feel to mixed or herbaceous borders, it also makes an excellent cut flower.

These herbaceous perennials thrive in full sun and well-drained soil, though they will tolerate light shade.

They prefer fertile, moisture-retentive soil but dislike waterlogging, so improve drainage if necessary. When planting, space them well apart to allow good air circulation, reducing the risk of fungal diseases.
