Libertia chilensis

libertia ( syn. Libertia grandiflora )

Product Image
Reliable and long-lived perennial which provides attractive vertical accents to a planting. Sword like leaves encircle slender wiry stems. Simple pure white flowers open progressively up each stem to culminate in a fine airy show. Associates well with fine grasses like Stipa tenuissima in a gravel planting, or with simple daisies like Anthemis 'Sauce Hollandaise' in the front of a border.

How to care for Libertia chilensis:

Selectively cut out old foliage to reveal attractive new growth. Dislikes a waterlogged soil. Divide congested plants in spring or autumn. Leave flower spikes to mature and form attractive seed heads which will self-seed if permitted.
