Paired, twisted needles emerge bright green in spring before turning golden-yellow during winter. Wind and pollution tolerant, this dwarf mountain pine works well as an accent plant or to provide scale to other coniferous plantings.
How to care for Pinus mugo Winter Gold:
Pruning is not usually necessary, however any shoots that ruin the symmetry of the plant can be removed in autumn. Apply a generous layer of mulch around the base of the plant (avoiding the immediate crown) in late winter.
