Senecio candidans Angel Wings ('Senaw') (PBR)

senecio

Product Image
A striking foliage plant that has pulled in lots of awards. Its large, silvery white leaves have a soft, downy texture, which makes it ideal for a sensory garden, but it will also make an eye-catching feature for a border or pot where it will thrive in a hot, sunny spot.

Senecio candidans 'Angel Wings' quickly forms a good-sized clump and will become tolerant of drought once established. It also tolerates salt-laden winds, so will flourish in a coastal setting, however it tends to be relatively short-lived.

How to care for Senecio candidans Angel Wings ('Senaw') (PBR):

Choose a sunny, sheltered position with very free-draining soil or gritty compost, as it dislikes overly wet soil or compost, especially during the cooler months. Space plants to allow airflow and avoid overcrowding, and water sparingly, letting the surface dry between waterings.

In winter, keep the soil on the dry side to prevent rot, and protect from prolonged wet or harsh cold by moving containers under cover or placing the plant somewhere more sheltered when hard frost is forecast. Remove any damaged or soggy leaves to keep the plant clean and healthy, and avoid overhead watering to protect the soft, silvery foliage.
