A relatively new variety, this allium has already picked up a coveted AGM, wowing the assessors with its large, spherical heads (up to 18cm across) of deep purple flowers. These appeared on stout stems over a prolonged time and even after the flowers had faded, the seedheads remained attractive for several weeks. As well as offering a long season of interest in the border, 'Ambassador' is also an excellent variety for cutting and adding to both fresh and dried arrangements. - Garden care: Plant the bulbs 15cm deep and 20cm apart to avoid the flowers being too crowded. Avoid excessive soil moisture and split and divide large clumps in autumn or spring.
- Pets: TOXIC if eaten; Humans: Ornamental bulbs - not to be eaten
