Crisp white blooms bring a fresh lift to summer planting, and this compact perennial delivers them in generous clusters. Set against rich green foliage, the flowers open wide with clean white petals marked by fine golden-yellow flashes and delicate dark streaking at the centre, creating subtle detail that draws you in up close.

Neat and bushy in habit, it fits comfortably into patio pots, balcony containers or the front of a sunny or lightly shaded border, where it keeps flowering steadily through the summer months. The strong stems also make it a reliable choice for cut flowers, holding well in the vase and adding brightness indoors as well as out.

Alstroemeria ‘Inticancha Sunburst’ is easy to grow and ideal for gardeners who want long-lasting colour without fuss. Plant in fertile, well-drained soil and enjoy a steady display that also attracts butterflies.

How to care for Alstroemeria Inticancha Sunburst:

Plant in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in a sunny or lightly shaded position, ideally sheltered from strong winds. If planting into large containers, use a general-purpose potting compost. Water regularly during the growing season, especially in dry spells, but avoid waterlogging.

Newly planted Alstroemerias should be given a very generous 20cm (8in) deep mulch of chipped bark in their first winter to help the plants become established. In subsequent autumns, provide a dry mulch of bracken or bark chippings to help protect the crowns.

After flowering, cut back the faded flower-stems, but make sure you always wear gloves when working with Peruvian lilies, as contact with the foliage may cause skin irritation.
