Magnificent, deepest plum-purple flowers top upright stems in late spring and early summer above bushy clumps of foliage. The flowers of Centaurea 'Jordy' have a shaggy appearance and mix well with a whole host of colours including rusts, reds, purples and pinks. A new twist on a cottage garden classic, the seedheads will provide interest for several months after the flowers have faded.

How to care for Centaurea Jordy:

Plant perennial Centaurea in well-drained soil in a sunny position where it can get plenty of light and air movement. It’s a tough and reliable perennial but benefits from staking with brushwood or canes in spring before the flower stems lengthen, to prevent flopping.

Cut back to the ground after flowering to encourage a possible second flush later in the season. Every three years or so, lift and divide congested clumps in spring to maintain health and vigour.
