This fast growing, evergreen perennial climber will quickly cover a sunny wall, arch or obelisk and produce large, sweetly-scented flowers from midsummer to the first frosts. Cup and saucer plant is a vigorous climber that thrives in the UK and is commonly grown as a fast-growing annual. Plant out only after the last frosts, in fertile, well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter added. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot with strong support such as a trellis, arch, or pergola, as it will quickly scramble several metres in a season if conditions allow.
Sowing instructions:
Sow the seeds horizontally, 1cm deep in deep pots using freely-draining compost and water well. Keep them warm under glass (ideally at 18°C or 64°F) and pot on when large enough to handle.
