We consider this the best of the white echinaceas. The large and lightly scented flowerheads consist of a green central cone, encased by a collar of greenish white, petal-like rays, which remain quite horizontal throughout their season. It offers colour and structural interest in summer, and the subsequent seedheads will hold their appeal well into winter.
How to care for Echinacea purpurea Virgin (PBR):
Lift and divide congested colonies in autumn or spring. In autumn cut back all dead flower stems to the ground. Coneflowers benefit from a spring or autumn mulch with well-rotted compost.
