Vigorous and trouble-free, ‘Intense’ is a low-growing floriferous cultivar that copes with dry soils and brightens up partially shaded areas with its vibrant neon-magenta flowers. With low cushions of semi-evergreen foliage, this superb ground covering, hardy geranium is also a prime candidate for small borders, path edges and pots. Great for bees and other pollinators, it rewards again with an end of season autumnal finale of red-tinted foliage.
Please note that the pot in the photograph is not supplied with the plant (which is sent out in a simple nursery alternative), but we have a wide and wonderful range on our website to choose from.
How to care for Geranium × cantabrigiense Intense (PBR):
When planting ‘Intense’, incorporate some well-rotted compost into the planting hole. In midsummer, rejuvenate plants that are beginning to look jaded by cutting back old flowered stems and leaves to their growth points at soil level and feed with seaweed extract. Once established, lift and divide large clumps in spring.
