Producing mounds of relatively large orange-red leaves, are topped in summer with sprays of small, pink-tinged white flowers, Heuchera 'Fire Alarm' is an eye-catching addition to pots or front of border line-ups. Adding a tropical feel to the planting scheme, it works well in borders with a 'jungle' theme.

How to care for Heuchera Fire Alarm (PBR):

Plant 30-45cm (12-18in) apart in moderately fertile, moist, but well-drained soil, incorporating compost to improve drainage and fertility. Keep well watered and remove tatty foliage in autumn.

Lift and divide clumps every couple of years in early autumn and re-plant with the crown just above the surface of the soil. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted organic matter around the base of the plant in spring.
