Lathyrus odoratus 'Oxford Blue'

spencer sweet pea seed Oxford Blue

Product Image
The colour of these fragrant blue blooms intensifies as they age, providing a very pretty contrast to the greyish-green leaves. Sweet peas are a cottage garden favourite and 'Oxford Blue' will look wonderful when allowed to scramble over a wigwam of brushwood where they will get sun for the best part of the day.

How to care for Lathyrus odoratus Oxford Blue:

Before planting out, incorporate lots of well-rotted organic matter in the planting hole. Apply a balanced liquid plant food every two weeks while in growth and deadhead regulary to encourage more flowers.

Sowing instructions:

From October to late March, sow seeds into pots filled with good-quality seed compost and grow them on in a cold frame. Then, after the worst frosts have passed, the seedlings can either be planted out or potted up for the patio. Alternatively, direct sowings can be made in October or from March to April.
