Lupinus 'Beefeater' (PBR)

west country lupin

Product Image
Densely packed spires of flaming orange-red flowers, rise above the leafy clumps in early summer. An impressive perennial where you want a shot of vibrant colour, Lupinus 'Beefeater' can easily be incorporated into a border with a hot colour theme - or to add real drama, team it with rich purples and plum tones.

How to care for Lupinus Beefeater (PBR):

Plant lupins in full sun with well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil, avoiding heavy clay. Water regularly while establishing, but once mature they become more tolerant to dry conditions.

Stake tall cultivated varieties with bamboo canes in spring before flowers appear, and remove faded blooms to encourage a second flush. Mulch lightly in winter to protect roots, and watch for slugs and snails on young growth.
