Lupinus 'Magic Lantern' (PBR)

west country lupin

Product Image
Lupinus 'Magic Lantern' is a vigorous clump-forming, herbaceous perennial with showy terminal racemes of pea-like flowers and palm-shaped, mid-green leaves. Dense spikes of dark purple and yellow blooms appear from June to July.

How to care for Lupinus Magic Lantern (PBR):

Plant lupins in full sun with well-drained, slightly acidic to neutral soil, avoiding heavy clay. Water regularly while establishing, but once mature they become more tolerant to dry conditions.

Stake tall cultivated varieties with bamboo canes in spring before flowers appear, and remove faded blooms to encourage a second flush. Mulch lightly in winter to protect roots, and watch for slugs and snails on young growth.
