Grown for its attractive, pinnate foliage, which emerges each year in a bright pink flush before turning a fresh, light green, Blush Pink ('Aka') is a colourful small shrub that's perfect for adding a splash of colour to pots or borders. Naturally forming a rounded dome, it's quite architectural, and as the foliage is mainly evergreen, it will offer year-round interest in most regions.
How to care for Nandina domestica Blush Pink ('Aka') (PBR):
Select a sheltered location in full sun or partial shade, with well drained soil. When planting, mix some well-rotted garden compost into the excavated soil of the planting hole and dust the plant’s rootball with mycorrhizal fungi. Water in well and keep well watered during warm, dry periods. Once established, Nandina require little or no pruning. When required, prune in mid to late spring.
