Onion sets are the easiest way to grow onions in the garden. Planted in March or April, they will mature faster than onions grown from seed. 'Stuttgarter Giant' is an old favourite with characteristically firm, semi-flat onions that store very well.
How to care for onion Stuttgarter:
Plant this onion from January to April, 3cm deep and 12cm apart. Lift the onions when they aremature (normally in August) and allow them to dry before using.
