A stunning, giant fern that really lives up to its regal name. In spring, huge, bright green fronds unfurl and filter the sunlight. In autumn, they turn bronze before dying back. This deciduous fern forms a natural, rounded shape and looks fantastic planted near a pond or stream, where its feathery fronds will be reflected in the water.

How to care for Osmunda regalis:
Plant in moist, humus-rich soil in partial shade, ideally beside a pond or in a damp border. Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells, as this fern dislikes drying out.
Remove old fronds in late winter before new growth appears to keep plants tidy. Lift and divide congested clumps in autumn or early spring, replanting divisions straight away to prevent roots from drying. Mulch annually with leaf mould or compost to help retain moisture and maintain good soil structure.
