How to care for Physostegia virginiana:
Tolerant of a wide range of soil moistures, Physostegia thrives in boggy conditions. Support with brushwood or stakes in late spring before the flowers appear. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted organic matter around the plant in early spring.
