White spruce ( syn. Daisy's White )

Product Image
Initially the needle-like leaves of this compact conifer are a pale cream, but as they mature, they turn yellow-green and finally a richer green. This gives Picea glauca var. albertiana 'J.W. Daisy's White' a very distinctive look in the spring when their new growth is emerging, however being evergreen, their cone-shaped silhouette offers form and interest even in the depths of winter.

How to care for Picea glauca var. albertiana J.W. Daisy's White:

Plant Picea glauca in well-drained soil and a sunny or lightly shaded spot, keeping it watered through its first season so it can root in well. Once established, it needs very little attention, but you can remove any misplaced, damaged or diseased branches in winter to keep its natural shape tidy.

Add a layer of mulch in spring to help with moisture retention, and avoid heavy pruning as this species prefers a light touch.
