The sculptural foliage of this handsome perennial emerges each spring a bright reddish bronze colour before turning green, so it really adds a seasonal splash of colour. In summer, tall sprays of pink flowers soar upwards, and this creates yet another season of colour. Rodgersias however are popular just for their foliage shape and texture, which offers a wonderful contrast in borders or more naturalised planting schemes in reliably moist soils.
How to care for Rodgersia Bronze Peacock:
Add lots of well-rotted leaf mould when planting. Protect the young foliage against slug damage using beer traps or environmentally friendly slug pellets. Lift and divide congested colonies in early spring.
