Veronica umbrosa 'Georgia Blue'

speedwell

Product Image
Masses of small, erect, deep blue flowerspikes appear above a carpet of glossy, bronze-purple foliage. This vigorous and free flowering speedwell is perfect for clothing the front of a sunny, well-drained border.

As well being good groundcover, Veronica umbrosa 'Georgia Blue' is an excellent plant for attracting beneficial insects into the garden.

How to care for Veronica umbrosa Georgia Blue:

Plant in well-drained soil and a sunny or lightly shaded spot. It prefers moist but not waterlogged ground, so improve drainage if your soil is heavy. Water regularly after planting to help it establish, then only during long dry spells.

Trim back lightly after flowering to keep the plant neat and encourage fresh growth. Apply a general-purpose fertiliser or compost mulch in spring to boost vigour. It’s a low-growing, spreading perennial that forms a dense mat, perfect for rockeries, front borders, or under shrubs. Generally pest-free and hardy, it needs lower maintenance once established.
