Richly coloured blooms make an immediate impact, with velvety petals in the deepest shades of black-purple surrounding a bright golden eye. Compact and spreading, this hardy evergreen perennial forms neat mats of fresh green foliage that provide year-round interest, while masses of flowers appear over an exceptionally long season from spring into autumn.

Ideal for edging paths, softening the fronts of borders, brightening patio pots or weaving through gravel gardens, Viola 'Molly Sanderson' pairs beautifully with silver, lime-green and pastel-flowered companions. Regular deadheading helps keep the display looking its best, encouraging a continuous succession of blooms.

How to care for Viola Molly Sanderson:

Pot-grown plants can be planted out or potted up into compost or well-drained, humus-rich soil that is neither frozen nor prone to waterlogging.

Keep well watered, and feed with a good, high potash fertiliser (such as Tomorite) on a regular basis. Pinching off the spent flowers will encourage more to form.

Protect young plants from slug and snail damage using environmentally friendly pellets, beer traps or alternative methods available in our slug and snail control selection.
