Garden lime

Product Image
If your soil is naturally acidic, this is one of the simplest ways to bring it back into balance. By raising the pH, garden lime makes it easier for plants to access the nutrients already in the ground - often resulting in stronger, more even growth.

It’s especially worthwhile on heavier soils, where it can help break things up over time and create better conditions for roots to establish. Applied ahead of planting, or as part of regular soil care, it can make a noticeable difference to how well things grow overall.

How to use:

Apply evenly over the soil at around 10g per m². Lightly fork into the surface, avoiding contact with stems and foliage. Water in well after application.

Use every 2-3 years for normal soils, or annually if soils are very acidic. Best applied in autumn before the first frost. Avoid using around acid-loving plants such as rhododendrons and blueberries.

Key features:

  • Reduces soil acidity to improve nutrient availability
  • Source of calcium and magnesium
  • Improves structure of heavier soils
