We love a tool designed for a specific job, and this is one of our own. We’ve created this pinpoint planter in partnership with DeWit. The idea was to come up with a full-size tool that allows precision planting, and this really fits the bill.
It’s nice and slimline so you can easily squeeze it between plants. Perfect for working in densely planted areas - grab it whenever you want to sneak plants or bulbs into any little gaps you’ve spotted in the border.
The whole tool is made from high carbon steel, with a springy rubber coating on the grips so it’s comfortable to hold. The head is shaped like a twisted ribbon. Turn the handle bar round and it spirals itself down into soil to carve out a perfect round planting hole. Lift it out and push out the plug of soil to clear it ready for the next one.
Very robust and easy to use, we think this is a real winner. It’s more efficient in looser soils so is best used in established beds and borders rather than virgin ground, but it works brilliantly. If you give it a go, we’d be very interested to hear your verdict!
