These rustic recycled oak planters started life as whisky casks and are (quite literally) soaked in history. The wood staves have aged for many years maturing whisky all around the world, and have a beautiful timeworn finish to show for it.
Hand-built by a traditional cooperage in Scotland, the barrels are cut, tightened and fitted with new galvanised hoops where necessary. The finished planters are painted and stained to breathe new life into the wood.
A distinctive, enduring statement planter like this deserves a plum spot in the garden. It’ll suit anything you plant in it and look better and better as the years roll by. Each planter has a raised inset base so you won’t need too much compost to fill it, and can be easily drilled for drainage.
