Terracotta Erigeron pot - small

Product Image
We think this gourd-shaped round pot looks wonderful with an explosion of erigeron or similarly cheerful cascade spilling over the sides. The pot will keep it nicely contained so it won’t sprawl like it does in beds and borders. A great little feature pot for placing on steps or garden walls, or clustering with larger pots to create a diverse display.

The pot is hand thrown in Turkey by Argun and his son, 3rd and 4th generation potters from the Izmir region on the Aegean coast. Made using local clay, it’ll age to a wonderful patina as the salts slowly leach to the surface.

Each pot is fired to 1080°C to make it as frost resistant as possible; however we would always suggest moving empty or full pots into a sheltered spot in the colder months.

To keep your pot in tip-top condition please read our ‘Assembly and care instructions’ PDF for more detailed advice.

Any white specks in the terracotta are lime granules, which occur naturally in raw Turkish clay. Sometimes when a pot is fired, the clay around them can split out a little, but this won't compromise the strength of the finished product. The lime helps to bind the clay and ultimately makes for a stronger pot.

The pot has no drainage hole as the narrow opening makes it less inclined to waterlogging, but the porous terracotta will naturally drain well. Available in two sizes to let you choose the best fit for your space, or add variety if displaying pots together. As they are hand thrown, they will vary slightly in height and diameter, so the measurements below are approximate.
