We’ve introduced this indoor/outdoor terracotta pot with lemons and other citrus in mind, but you could use it for any semi-hardy or tender plants. Attractive in the garden through the warmer months, you can move it indoors to protect plants over winter and it’ll look equally at home.
The pot has a large drainage hole and comes with a glazed watertight saucer so it won’t leak, but it’s best to water sparingly indoors to avoid overspills.
These are hand thrown in Turkey from local clay and will age to an attractive patina as the salts leach to the surface. Each one is high-fired to 1080°C to make it as frost resistant as possible, but we do recommend moving it indoors in the colder months.
Please note: white specks in the terracotta are lime granules, which occur naturally in raw Turkish clay. Occasionally when pots are fired the clay around them can split out a little, but this won’t compromise the pot’s strength. Lime helps to bind the clay and ultimately makes for a stronger pot.
Sometimes the glazed saucers may have slight imperfections or hairline cracks in the glaze, which happens from time to time as they are handmade and finished. To be extra careful, we recommend not placing them directly onto surfaces that may mark easily.
Measurements:
Pot - Ø36cm x H40cm (H41cm with saucer)
Saucer - Ø28cm x H6cm
As the pots are hand thrown, the measurements are approximate.
