Vitax horticultural grade grit

New
Product Image
A washed, lime-free horticultural grade grit with a coarser texture (approx 2–6mm). This is useful for opening up heavy or clay soils to prevent waterlogging and root rot. The bigger particles offer more robust, structural drainage in large containers or in the border to stop soil compacting over time.

You can also use a layer in the base of lighter weight pots to weigh them down, and use it as a top dressing for ornamental plants, where it’ll discourage pests, suppress weeds, stop soil splashes and protect leaves from winter wet.

Approximate packed weight 5kg (this may vary depending on water content).

Key features:

  • Ideal for cacti, succulents and alpines
  • Use to aid drainage or for top dressing
  • Suitable for mixing into compost or heavy clay
