Vitax vermiculite

20 litre bag of natural vermiculite for seed sowing, pricking out and potting on. Added to compost, it helps retain moisture and nutrients while helping to loosen the mix so it’s easier for seeds to push through and roots to develop.

For small seeds that need light to germinate, vermiculite can be used as a top covering instead of compost. A fine sprinkle over the top keeps seeds moist, but creates a dry-touch surface that stops fungal diseases like damping off.

It can also be used alone to sow small, fast-germinating vegetable and herb seeds, as well as fine flower seeds like petunias, snapdragons and begonias.
