A miniature azalea with a big personality! Lustrous, deep green leaves make for a contrasting backdrop to the ruffled pink flowers. Considered a very pretty, and much longer-lived, alternative to a bouquet of freshly cut flowers, Azalea flandresse ‘Pink’ does have a few essential requirements (see the care tips below) but will reward the patient and attentive houseplant gardener with a superior pot plant for indoors or a warm, winter greenhouse.
The flower colour can vary from light through to dark pink, and even magenta as this cultivar is variable in hue. Prefers an acidic (ericaceous) compost.
Please note that the plant comes in a 12cm nursery pot as standard, unless a decorative pot cover is included as an option.
How to care for Azalea flandresse Pink:
Keep in a cool, humid room where it will receive plenty of light, and keep well watered - taking care to never let the compost dry out completely. If possible, water with rain water, particularly if you live in a hard water area. Maintain temperatures around 15°C and mist with water on a daily basis. After all risk of frost has passed, the plants can be moved outside during the warmer months before being moved back inside again in the autumn. Feed in spring with a diluted (half-strength) liquid feed that is suitable for acid-loving plants.
