Big, blousy, and beautiful! When only the grandest of flowering dames will do, we offer this curated collection of possibly the most expressive and impressive pastel dahlias ever to share the same late summer border or cut flower vase.

How to care for Dinner plates dahlia collection:

Dahlia tubers can be planted outside after frost, or started off in pots under glass in late winter to early spring. Plant them horizontally approximately 12cm deep, making sure the ‘eyes’ are uppermost. Allow enough room between each tuber so the plants can grow and spread to their full size without being overcrowded. While in growth, provide a high-nitrogen liquid feed each week in June, then a high-potash fertiliser each week from July to September. Stake with canes or brushwood if it becomes necessary. In mild areas, leave them in situ over winter, but protect the crown with a generous layer of dry mulch. In colder areas, carefully lift and clean the tubers once the first frosts have blackened the foliage and allow them to dry naturally indoors. Then place the dry tubers in a shallow tray, just covered with slightly moist potting compost, sand or vermiculite and store in a frost-free place until planting out again.

What's included:

In each collection you will receive one tuber of each of the following:

  • Dahlia 'Café au Lait': The flower colour of this gorgeous decorative dahlia is hard to describe, but imagine rich cream with a big dollop of peachy-pink and you will get the idea. However the colour is described, the flowers are lush and lovely. They can grow up to 25cm across, so will make a pretty spectacular display in the border, or when cut and placed in a vase. Grows to 1.2m.

  • Dahlia 'Cafe Au Lait Rosé': A giant decorative dahlia boasting stunning, deep rose-pink flowers that span an impressive 20-25cm (8-10in) in size, blooming reliably from midsummer until autumn's arrival. Perfect for floral arrangements, these dahlia blooms flourish as a captivating centrepiece in any vase. Allow ample space for 'Café au Lait Rosé' to showcase its magnificent, oversized flowers, presenting a stunning counterpart to its well-known pinkish cream and tan relative, the Dahlia 'Café au Lait'. Grows to 1.2m.

  • Dahlia 'Break Out': Similar in style to ‘Café au Lait’, ‘Break Out’ offers a slightly pinker hue and a hint of yellow at its heart, creating a captivating spectacle that's sure to turn heads. The soft unfurling leaves on long stems add an elegant touch to any cut flower arrangement, while the blooms themselves are sure to captivate garden onlookers with their creamy petals tinged with blush pink and and buttercream overtones. Grows to 1.2m.
